There are a lot of ways provided on the web describing how to try to stop Windows 10 auto updates to save on data usage . We tried a lot of different ways, but we could not find good effective solution till worked out cancellation of Windows automatic updates by ourselves.

This is the simplest way we think can help you. Please see below the next reply with 8 steps.

This method should stop auto download Windows updates till you change on 'automatic' or 'manual' when you need it.

While disabling the automatic update service will temporarily halt any Windows 10 cumulative updates, the service will re-enable itself after a certain amount of time. Here are the directions:

1. Press the Windows logo key + R at the same time to invoke the Run box.
2. Type services.msc and press Enter.
3. Scroll down to Windows Update, and double-click it.
4. In Startup type, select "Disabled". Then click "Apply" and "OK" to save the settings.

Press the Windows logo key + R then type gpedit.msc and click OK. Go to "Computer Configuration" > "Administrative Templates" > "Windows Components" > "Windows Update". Select "Disabled" in Configured Automatic Updates on the left, and click Apply and "OK" to disable the Windows automatic update feature

I have a problem with an Optiplex 755 Desktop computer. After I updated my computer with windows updates my computer freezes and the only way out of it is to reboot it via the button. After the computer reboots, it freezes again after about 10 seconds. Anyone knows what the problem could be?
