<p>Currently garbage cost $199 and $211 per year. New Logan two bin services will increase rates by $45 per annum for most households. Ratepayers who applied for smaller bins will pay less than most households.</p>

<p>Bookkeeping service providers, BAS agents and  small business owners in Logan city can take into account that ATO gave individuals and businesses  <span id="more-295"></span>affected by natural disasters in Logan City including Shailer Park, Marsden, Loganlea, Springwood, Underwood  and other affected arrears of Brisbane Southern Suburbs in Queensland additional time for tax-related lodgments and some associated payments.</p>
<p>For Logan City Business following deferrals applied to their lodgment due dates where BAS lodgments had not been received:</p>
<ul type="disc">
<li>21 March 2011 for December 2010 and January 2011 monthly activity statements</li>
<li>28 March 2011 for 2010-11 quarter 2 activity statements (this did not apply to large pay as you go withholders)</li>
<li>28 March 2011 for any other lodgments (including income tax returns) originally due on 28 February 2011.</li>
</ul>
<p>Logan City businesses and bookkeepers should be aware that associated payment dates for all lodgments listed above were deferred accordingly. Lodgment of quarterly superannuation guarantee charge statements was automatically deferred from 28 February 2011 to 28 March 2011.</p>
<p>BAS lodgment deferrals given to affected arrears of New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia.</p>
